If you’re bowled over by Basie, excited by Ellington or mesmerised by Miller, then the Big Band Bash is for you when England’s first Big Band Festival takes place on 14 to 16 June 2024 inclusive.

The Big Band Bash is the first festival dedicated solely to the music and sound of the Big Band. Over the weekend each of the six big bands playing will take audiences through a particular aspect of big band music; the Swing era of the 1930s, dance bands of the 1940s, a special concert highlighting the music of Duke Ellington, a tea dance, current big band music and Big Band at the Movies.

The next Big Band Bash will take place at The Maltings, Ely, Cambridgeshire, from Friday 14 June to Sunday 16 June 2024. The confirmed line up is:

The Blue Skies Big Band

Harmony in Harlem

Linton Jazz Orchestra

4 Villages Orchestra

Each band will be highlighting a different aspect of the Big Band sound.
